BHC baseball coach to lead NCAA DII program in FL

Josh KeimBlack Hawk College Braves baseball coach Josh Keim is moving on from his alma mater to take on the head coaching duties at Saint Leo University, an NCAA Division II school in Saint Leo, FL.

“Although it hurts to lose such a strong coach and former player of mine, I am excited for the opportunity that Josh has earned. He is ready for the NCAA DII level,” said Arnie Chavera, BHC athletic director.

“Who knows, perhaps a pipeline is established for some of our players to St. Leo University in the future!查维拉说.

The former BHC baseball player became the Braves’ head baseball coach in 2020年8月. In his four seasons, the Braves were 161-71 (.694), and his teams have made four consecutive regional tournament appearances to go along with three conference championships.

“Coach Keim has been a tremendous coach and academic advisor for our department over the last four years,查维拉说. “I am extremely proud of him and can’t wait to follow his success.”

Prior to taking over the Brave’s program, Keim spent one season at Saint Leo University as the head assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. 不幸的是, the 2020 season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, but Keim helped guide the Lions to seven wins prior to cancellation.

Black Hawk College has begun an immediate search for the fourth head baseball coach at the college in the 34 years.
